Executive Functioning
Coaching & Support

Executive Functioning is defined as the ability to identify and successfully accomplish an identified goal. It is a set of complex mental processes that control and coordinate our cognitive abilities. Executive functioning skills are essential life skills, indispensable in setting goals, planning, sustaining attention, managing time and our day to day lives. They impact success in academics, careers, peer relationships, mental/physical health and quality of life. The most essential component of our Executive Functioning Support program is the development of deeper metacognitive strategies. Our EF program builds skills in the areas:

  • Organization and Planning

  • Time Management

  • Flexibility

  • Sustained Attention

  • Task Initiation

  • Working Memory

  • Metacognition

  • Self-Control

  • Perseverance

We also provide Study Skills support as an extension of the Executive Functioning Program. Students will learn and practice the skills of planning, time management, organization and self-advocacy as they apply to school as well as strategies for test preparation and test-taking.
